Spring 1986: University of California, Santa Cruz. Guest lecture on Forest Management in the Sierra Nevada. Sponsored by Dr. Raymond F. Dassman, Division of Environmental Studies.

January 28, 1989: "Threats to Biological Diversity in the Sierra Nevada." Planning and Conservation League Sixth Annual Environmental Legislation Symposium, California State University, Sacramento, CA.

Fall 1989: University of California, Berkeley. At the invitation of Dr. Reginald Barrett, presented lecture on maintaining biological diversity in the Sierra Nevada to the Faculty and Graduate Students, College of Natural Resources.

Fall 1990: University of California, Davis. Fall Ecology and Botany Seminar Series. At the invitation of Dr. Michael Barbour, Botany Department, presented program on biological diversity in the Sierra Nevada.

Fall 1990: University of California, Davis. At the invitation of Dr. Michael Barbour, presented guest lecture on the Sierran Biodiversity Institute to Faculty and Graduate Students in the Zoology and Botany Departments.

September 1992: Institute of Geography, Siberian Academy of Sciences, Irkutsk, Russia. Presented introductory presentation on satellite image processing and geographic information system technology.

May 25, 1994: Stanford University. At the invitation of the Center for Conservation Biology, Department of Biological Sciences, presented the lecture  "Conservation of Biological Diversity in the Sierra Nevada."

May 25, 1994: Stanford University. At the invitation of the Earth Systems Program, presented the lecture "The Role of Geographic Information Systems in Development of Natural Resource Management Policy."

September 30, 1994: University of San Francisco. Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

October 14, 1994: University of California, Davis. Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

October 21, 1994: Chico State University. Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

October 25, 1994: Sonoma State University: Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

October 27, 1994: University of California, Santa Cruz. Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

November 2 and 3, 1994: Feather River Junior College. Three lectures entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada" before students and staff.

November 4, 1994: University of California, Berkeley. Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

November 17, 1994: San Francisco State University. Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

November 23, 1994: University California, Berkeley. At the invitation of the Graduate Student Forest Forum, presented a lecture "Natural Resource Management in the Sierra Nevada."

December 5, 1994: Chico Library. At the invitation of the Mount Lassen Chapter, California Native Plant Society, presented the lecture  "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

January 31, 1995: Stanford University. Lecture entitled "Ancient Forest Wilderness of the Sierra Nevada."

January 25, 1995: Groveland Historical Society, Groveland, CA. Presented the lecture "On the historical significance of the old forests and natural landscapes in the Sierra Nevada."

March 11, 1995: Chico State University. Lecture entitled "The legal history of the national forests."

May 30, 1995: Stanford University. At the invitation of the Earth Systems Group, presented the lecture "The Role of Geographic Information Systems in Development of Natural Resource Management Policy."

April 6, 1995: Society of American Foresters, Tahoe-Sierra Chapter. Presentation "The Biophysical Effects of Forest Management as Seen from Space."

December 16, 1995: North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center. Program "The Cultural and Natural History of Siberia and the Russian Far East."

April 20, 1996: Plumas County Earthday Presentation: "On the Importance of Free Speech for the International Environmental Movement."

September 13, 1996: Nature and Culture Program, University of California Davis. Lecture entitled "Introduction to the Ecology of Sierra Nevada Old-Growth Forests."
